Fabulous!

The 14th is a kid's birthday. If that isn't crazy enough, it was Caleb, my little, random 6-year-old Buggaboo. The day started off with him at his 'Special Birthday Breakfast'. We were eating and sitting there talking when suddenly he piped up, "I. Look. Fabulous." The best part is the fact that he was rocking his Alfalfa hairdo, and just-rolled-out-of-bed-still-rumpled-up pajamas. Nutball. The big day only went on from there. He was sent up for his nap as we set up all his gifts on the dining room table. As they woke up dad went and got all the yahoos and sent Stephen, Daniel, and Aaron down and held the birthday boy at the top of the stairs. We made a mad dash for the candles and a lighter, stuck the candles in, lit them, dove around the table, told dad we were ready and began to sing. His face was priceless when he saw his gift, a big-wheel. He rode it around the house, his balloons floating around behind him, singing "I got a big-wheel, I got a big-wheel." That was my 6th birthday in this new family, with only Daniel left in this year. I'm looking forward to many more mad dash birthdays in the future.

  1. The Big Wheel was one of my favorite riding toys when I was young (and yes before you say it that was a long time ago). We would ride them so much that we would flatten the front tire and continue to ride with a bounce each time the flat spot would come around.
